Homecoming

Master comes home tomorrow! He's been away for about 72ish days (but who's counting, right?) and tomorrow he comes home. It's kind of sudden in a way. He didn't know how long he would be away and dates for homecomings were changing daily. Then, suddenly, about two or three days ago, we suddenly found out that it would be tomorrow.

It's not the date we were given originally. THAT day was today. So, of course, I took the day off work so that I could get the house spruced up and be off so that I could be there to pick him up when he got back. I probably shouldn't have done that but when you have a job that usually makes the schedule up a couple of days in advance, you have no choice but to work with the information that you have been given.

There isn't much to do to get the house up to snuff. Because they've been showing the house to sell it, everything is pretty much clean and tidy. It's just putting a final shine on things like fresh sheets on the bed and making sure that the lawn is freshly cut. That's going to be a huge thing to keep on top of. We've been getting a lot of rain this year and it is making the grass grow at a rapid speed.

It's going to be interesting when he gets back. I am curious how the dogs will react when he arrives. Our large dog sometimes reacts oddly when he hasn't seen someone for a while and this is the longest that Master has been away. We're expecting our small dog to pee herself. It's not a stretch.... she always pees herself when she is excited.

I'm looking forward to things settling down and getting back to normal as quickly as possible. I know that there is going to end up being a new normal simply because of the fact that we are moving but we can still get back to the routine we had for at least a little while longer.
