I've been on holiday and Master has been on vacation now for a few days and it has been wonderful. Originally we had wanted to go away for a few days but that all sort of fell through. Instead, we have ended up staying home and just doing day trips here and there. We had a few medical appointments and some school related stuff to deal with so we figured it was just easiest to stay home.
Not that we haven't been having fun. Saturday was a bit of a family reunion and we road-tripped there and back in a day. It was my ex-husband's family but the kidlets wanted to go and, honestly, so did I. I like most of my ex's relatives and it was nice to have been invited so we packed up and headed out. We took a bit of a roundabout way home which would have been lovely if it had been light enough to see the scenery but it was still nice.
My parents came up yesterday and we took them out in our boat. It was a lot of fun zipping up and down the river. We were out about two hours and all of us had a blast. It was our first time boating where we were so there was a bit of learning where the route was concerned but in the end we had a blast.
Today, Master and I went out and played tennis. I don't sports but I am trying to get in shape and so this seemed like a fun way to do so. We were out about half an hour and I only got hit by a ball once, which is a personal best. Seriously. I don't sports for a reason and that reason is that I normally get hit with a bat, a ball, a racquet or some other sportsing device and that always hurts. We plan to play again sometime soon.
We don't have a lot of concrete plans for the rest of my time off (my last day is tomorrow). There are dental appointments for the kidlets tomorrow and I have to take eldest to deal with her time table but other than that, no real plans. I'm just going to enjoy having Master home a little while longer since that isn't always possible.
