Finally, Master is home for good! Well, as "good" as work will let him be. It looks like the year and a bit coming up will likely see a few more extended trips and stays away from home but whatever the future brings we will roll with it. It's been a nice few days if you ignore my insane work schedule. I put in overtime this week and will be working most of next week as well which is nice because I am taking a few days off and the extra hours will ensure that my paycheque isn't overly tiny even with the time I am taking off.
It's been good getting back into established routines. Master and I have been walking in the evening. Its been something that the kidlets and I really started to do more often once I got more serious about losing weight and getting in shape and now that he is back he is coming with me. The kidlets are becoming more interested in television and NetFlix again and so family time isn't as plentiful as it seemed to be when Master was away.
We did all go downtown last night and watch the final Tragically Hip Concert. I love that band and it was their final performance. We had 0 chance of getting tickets since they seemed to sell out in a nanosecond and were ridiculously expensive when purchased from scalpers but it was nice to sit in the middle of our small town and watch the concert get broadcast. People (which may or may not have included myself) were dancing and singing and crying and laughing. It was a really wonderful thing to see. Even my kidlets (who are a little young to be really serious fans) were moved from time to time which was neat to see.
Today was work (yay retail) and then a nice dinner. I always love cooking for everyone. It's one of my favorite things to do and Master is happy to be back where the food is good and plentiful. It's amazing how easy it is to eat good food that is also healthy. I made chicken breast stuffed with some pesto and soft goat cheese as well as corn on the cob and boiled potatoes. Then, we went for a walk/run. More walking than running but still. There was running. Hopefully, in future, there will be more running than walking.
Tomorrow is work (again). I'm definitely counting down the days until my holidays arrive (my last shift is Thursday night) and then it's going to be great to kick back and relax even if we don't really have any fun plans as of yet.
