Domestic Weekend

With the schedules that Master and I have its usually pretty busy here during the week. There are our work schedules, the extra time at home that I am doing paid writing for clients and then all of the activities that the kidlets have. It's a pretty busy time and so a lot of the domestic stuff gets left for the weekends. During the week we do tidy-ups and of course the dishes get done but for major stuff, its the weekend that is best for us.

I've started baking all of our bread. There are a couple of reasons for this. The first is that I like doing it. I feel that homemade bread is a lot better for us than the store bought stuff and if I have the skill and the ability to do so, why not do it? The next reason is that it ends up being less expensive than buying it in a store. Master likes sourdough bread a lot so of course, when I can, that's the kind I like to make best.

I have a bread machine for other things but don't like to use it for sourdough. It takes longer to make totally by hand but its worth it in the end. But, because it takes more time I like to make more than one loaf. So there is actually four loaves worth of dough rising in the oven as I type this.

Now that that's out of the way, there are a ton of other domestic things to do around the house. The nice weather has finally arrived so there's yard work and such outside as well as getting the vehicles ready for warm weather.  The dogs have been doing their dog thing outside too so that's going to need some dealing with.

I tend to be a bit of a list-maker when it comes to chores. I have an app on my phone that I use which I like as well as writing things down on paper. I feel better when I can cross stuff off and see my progress throughout the day. That way everything is not so overwhelming as it would be if I just kept running over everything in my head.

What methods do you use to keep organized and on top of things?
