Getting Ready for the Holidays

Tonight, Master and I, and the kidlet put up the tree and started the process of decorating the house. Since its a third of the way into December and we've been to two holiday parties so far I guess it was high time to do so. It feels a little odd this year, to be honest. The eldest of my two kidlets is not here to help decorate and both kiddos are going to be away on Christmas itself.

In fact, it's likely just going to be Master and I. My parents are not coming out this way this year since they were out her this summer. Master's son always spends the holidays with his mom and so he won't be joining us. In a way, it's going to be nice even if it ends up being really quiet.

I haven't done a lot of the things I normally do to get ready for the holidays. I've only bought one or two gifts so far and haven't done any Christmas baking. Usually I bake a  lot of cookies but this year not so much. It's not as though there are many of us here to eat them, after all.

Hopefully next year both of my kiddos will be here with us even if its just to spend the holidays. Our plans are to be in our own home (that we own rather than rent) and to be all settled over the summer. If that pans out we should be nicely situated come Christmas 2018.

This year has been busier in other ways though. Apparently the people who live on our street enjoy parties and so Master and I were invited to a couple of them. Both were a lot of fun even though we were the youngest ones in the room. Hopefully, if things pan out, we will be able to return the favor and have people into our home in late January.

Other than that there has been my work party to go to. Master doesn't seem to be having one this year or if there has been one we didn't know about it. I'm glad that Master likes going out and being social since it's something I also enjoy and I always feel safer and happier when I am with him.
