Recently, Master suggested that I should drive his vehicle while he is away. That idea really weirded me out. The thought of driving his vehicle feels really uncomfortable to me. I had told him that I didn't like the idea of using his vehicle and it was hard to explain why.
Now, here's the thing. Before he left, Master and I agreed that while the weather was awful I would drive his vehicle. His has better tires on it than mine does and it has all wheel drive as well. His vehicle is also larger and a bit more comfortable than mine as well. So why would I be fine with driving it when the weather is crappy but have such a huge mental block when it comes to every day driving?
I guess that the easiest way to look at it is that if I am driving it out of necessity it's as a way to make sure that I and the kidlets are safe. Master wants us to be safe. He wants to make sure we are healthy, safe and secure and so driving his vehicle while the roads are bad is an extension of that. I totally get that and understand it.
The problem comes when I am driving it and the weather is NOT bad. Then, it becomes fun. It's a FUN vehicle to drive around in. And fun isn't a good reason to be driving his vehicle instead of my own. It's when I am driving it for fun other than practical reasons that I have a problem with. It may seem like a small distinction to you, but to me it means a lot.
