This winter has been horrible where Master and I live. In this area, it seems like there are two kinds of winters. We either end up with months of extreme cold or we get a ton of snow. This year has been a "snow" year rather than a "cold" year. Right now, the snow banks along my drive way have to be at least four feet tall if not higher. We are running out of room to put the snow and driving has become really dangerous. It's hard to see out into intersections so there is always the worry that you'll pull out in front of a car.
There are other challenges as well. I'm trying to be good and do my share of taking care of the driveway etc. I feel like it is unfair for Master to work during the day and then come home to take care of the driveway especially since it gets dark early in the winter. So, I do what I can when I can.
Tuesday we got a big dump of snow. It wasn't as much as we have gotten in the past but it was a fairly significant snowfall. It was also wet and heavy. I tried to shovel the end of the driveway so I could get my car out and go to work but I ended up screwing up my back. I do have back problems but I always end up feeling a bit useless when I end up hurting myself.
Other than the challenges that come with moving snow around, I don't mind winter. The average temperature this year has been really comfortable. There have been a couple of days where things were frigid (as in, -20 Celsius or colder) and the wind has made for some awful wind chills but for the most part its been about -10C or warmer. That means that the potential for activities like cross country skiing (which I love) is definitely there.
One of the things that is so wonderful is that Master and I have fun doing just about anything together. Life is too short to be serious all of the time and so we love goofing around and just enjoy being together. It may mean that I'm not acting in a traditionally "slave-y" way but in the end, that's the way that Master and I are happiest.
