Holidays are a Busy Time

This past Christmas and New Years was pretty hectic. The kidlets were down with their dad for a couple of weeks so things felt quiet but it was one of those cases where you look up and suddenly realize that a few weeks have gone by much more quickly than you thought they would. Working retail meant that I ended up putting in longer hours but that's not a bad thing for the old bank account.

I didn't get much time off at Christmas itself. I ended up working Christmas Eve and Boxing Day so I really only had the one day to relax. I had more time off over New Years as Master and I had plans to go out so that was really wonderful and helped me recharge my engines. Now, though, the kids are back, work has quieted down and things are getting back to normal.

My parents came up to spend Christmas with us. I would have preferred to just have the day with Master since I didn't have much time off but that ended up not being the case. Christmas Day was actually quite laid back compared to how it feels when I do have the kidlets here with me. We got up later than we would have, we had a nice breakfast and eventually got around to opening gifts. Supper was nice as well and my parents headed back on Boxing Day while I was at work.

While Master and I don't push our relationship in other people's faces we don't really hide it either. We tend not to use honorifics when there are other people around but there are quite a few rules that we keep in place even when we have guests. I still wait for him to eat first, he still chooses what I eat or drink when we go out for meals and other things like that. I feel the most comfortable that way. While I am legally married to Master and I like that we are husband and wife, I feel most comfortable thinking of myself as his slave. The rules we have in place allow us to do that.

Other than some horrible weather, the holidays were really nice overall although I am happy that things are getting back to normal. I don't really have any resolutions that I have made although I do have some plans and goals that I want to work on through the year. I see them as being different than resolutions since I know I will need the entire year to put them into place and don't think that everything is going to change in one day and still be permanent.
