October is shaping up to be one long, lonely month. Master left Monday morning for work and won't be back until Thursday night. Then, he leaves again Monday morning and is gone until the end of the month. Luckily there is a fair bit going on to keep me busy and distracted during the day, but at night it's going to feel really lonely and quiet without him here. Luckily this time the kidlets will be here and there will be plenty of things that they will be involved in so that should help pass the time but its only going to help so much.
It's always interesting trying to keep up the dynamic when Master is away long term. I knew that this would be a challenge when I decided to get involved with someone who was in the military and I am more than willing to put in the effort to keep our Master/slave dynamic working well but its always more of a challenge.
Luckily I'm not the sort of person to need constant communication or constant reinforcement in order to feel his authority. We also have a few rules in place that help to keep me where I need to be mentally. Luckily, we have also not had that many long separations but I know that they are coming in the future.
One nice thing about his being away is that it really makes me appreciate the time we do have together. It's easy to take the other person for granted if they are always around but if there are times when you can't see them, then when they come back it feels so good to have them home. It shows you just how much the other person adds to your life.
