Recently, I made a career switch and the company that I work for has potential for me to progress and turn it from a job into a career. For that to happen, I need to take a series of courses. I started my first one recently and quickly found that studying again after being out of school for as long as I have been was really overwhelming.
It kind of took over everything, too. I was studying for an hour or more a night every night. I didn't take much time off of it on the weekends, either. I wrote my test this past Wednesday and have slowly been remembering what it was like to have some time off to relax. This is the first weekend since I started the course that I've been able to just relax. So, because of that, I wanted to get a little blogging in.
Of course, once I find out that (if) I passed, I can move on to the next course. There are four in total that I need to do to get the professional designation that I want. Hopefully I can complete them all in a year but honestly I am not holding my breath. I may reassess that goal once I see how the first course went.
Luckily Master is incredibly supportive, even when I was in full on panic mode because nothing that I was reading seemed to be making sense or sticking in my head in any way. I felt bad that my studying was taking away from our time together in the evenings but he was very understanding. It's just one of the reasons why I love him so very, very much.
